Graham Marks (born New York City, 1951) worked in clay from 1968–1992. He received his BFA from the Philadelphia College of Art in 1974 where he studied with William Daley, Edward Eberle, Wayne Bates and Petras Vaskys. He received his MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics in 1976, where he studied with Robert Turner, Ted Randall, Val Cushing, and Wayne Higby. Marks was an influential teacher, working with students at Kansas State University (1976-1978), Rochester Institute of Technology (1980-1986) and as Head of Ceramics and artist in residence at the Cranbrook Academy of Art from 1986-1992. Starting in 1992 Marks studied acupuncture with the great English acupuncturist, J.R. Worsley, and had a private practice from 1995 to 2020. Upon retirement, he rediscovered his love of clay. He currently splits his time between Brooklyn and Alfred, New York
